The Yeongyang-gun Returning Farmers Association in Gyeongbuk donated a scholarship of 1 million won to the Yeongyang-gun Talent Development Scholarship Foundation on the 25th.
Choi Bong-seok, president of the Returning Farmers Association, said, “We collected the sincerity of our members with the hope that it would help Yeongyang-gun students to pursue their precious dreams even a little, and thus donated the scholarship,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to become a returning farmers association that supports the community by finding places in need of help.”
The Yeongyang-gun Returning Farmers Association is an organization consisting of about 300 returning farmers from 6 towns and townships, providing assistance for settlement through various projects including returning farmers schools for residents who have returned to Yeongyang-gun.
In addition, the Returning Farmers Association leads coexistence with the local community through various volunteer activities, such as improving the living environment of local residents in difficult situations by members’ talent donations.
Oh Do-chang, the county governor, said, “The warm hearts sent by the members of the Returning Farmers Association will be a strong foundation and driving force to help the local talents of Yeongyang-gun move forward with their dreams,” and added, “The donated scholarship will be used carefully for students who will lead the future of Yeongyang-gun.”
