Vulnerabilities in OTT Self-Rating Systems, Supplemented by Monitoring Units

Yeongdeungwi to Recruit Forty-Five Members Starting Next Month 1st

The Korea Media Rating Board is recruiting a monitoring team in accordance with the implementation of the OTT self-rating classification system. The self-rating classification system allows content ratings to be classified independently without going through the Korea Media Rating Board. The Board will announce the first business operators at the end of next month.

Vulnerabilities in OTT Self-Rating Systems, Supplemented by Monitoring Units

The monitoring team is an organization that supplements the weaknesses of the self-rating classification system. They continuously monitor related video content and evaluate its appropriateness. They also check compliance with labeling requirements. The Board is recruiting a total of forty-five members, including fifteen professional monitors and thirty general monitors. The former are video and media experts with experience in rating classification, while the latter are individuals aged twenty or older who have a strong interest in video content. A representative from the Board stated, "We will give additional points to women with career gaps of more than one year and plan to recruit people with disabilities with the cooperation of related organizations."

The recruitment period starts from the 1st of next month. Selected members will undergo relevant training and orientation and will be active from June to December. For more details, please refer to the Korea Media Rating Board website.
