Royal Stories Heard at Joseon Royal Tombs and Palaces

Gungneung Heritage Headquarters 'Joseon Royal Tombs Road Royal Tomb Cheonhaeng'

The Cultural Heritage Administration's Office of Royal Palaces and Tombs will present the 'Joseon Royal Tombs Road Travel Program: Royal Tombs Walk' for seven months starting from the 13th of next month. This is an experiential exploration program that conveys royal stories contained in the Joseon royal tombs and palaces.


Royal Stories Heard at Joseon Royal Tombs and Palaces

Six themed royal tomb routes will be operated on different days of the week. These include 'Walking the Path of the Empire, the Emperor's Road (Deoksugung, Namyangju Hongyureung)', 'Witnessing Royal Ancestral Rites, the Ritual Road (Jongmyo, Guri Donggureung)', 'Dreaming of a Virtuous King, Sejong's Road (Seoul Heoninreung, Yeoju Yeongnyeongneung)', 'Embodying Longing, Danjong's Road (Yeongwol Jangneung, Gwanpungheon, Cheongnyeongpo)', 'Expressing Royal Love, Sukjong's Road (Chilgung, Goyang Seooreung, Paju Soryeongwon)', and 'Continuing the Royal Line, the Queen's Road (Gyeongbokgung, Seoul Taereung, Namyangju Sareung)'. Visitors can gain historical knowledge through commentary by historians such as Shin Byung-joo and broadcaster Sun Kim, and enjoy performances including pansori.


Reservations are accepted on Naver, divided into the first and second halves of the year. Each session accommodates 20 to 40 people. For more details, please refer to the Office of Royal Palaces and Tombs and the Travel Story website.
