Ford Sales Service Korea announced on the 24th that it will launch the completely redesigned Ford Ranger Raptor model. It is scheduled to be delivered to customers starting in May, with a price of 79.9 million KRW including VAT.
The front design features signature C-clamp headlights, the Ranger's first matrix LED headlights, and Ford lettering. The seats are inspired by fighter jet cockpits and finished with red stitch accents and premium soft-touch materials. A 12-inch vertical touchscreen display and Bang & Olufsen audio system are installed on the center fascia.
Advanced driver assistance systems such as Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Monitoring System are also applied.
This vehicle is equipped with a 2.0L bi-turbo diesel engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency is 9 km/L combined (8.5 km/L city, 9.8 km/L highway), boasting a maximum output of 210 horsepower and a maximum torque of 51 kg·m.
There are seven driving modes: Normal, Sport, and Slippery for on-road, and Baja, Rock Crawl, Sand, and Mud/Ruts for off-road. Baja is for high-speed off-road driving, while Rock Crawl is suitable for severe inclined environments made of rocks. Modes can be easily changed via a dial, and driving can be enhanced using the rear differential locking and paddle shifters attached to the steering wheel, which are useful for off-road driving. Fox shock absorber suspension supports stability during off-road driving.
The Ranger is Ford’s representative midsize pickup truck, sold in more than 180 countries worldwide. According to Ford, this model is a consumer-focused vehicle developed through tests including -50°C to 50°C temperature extremes, 5,000m high-altitude testing, and 5.5 million kilometers of long-distance driving tests.
