Yongsan-gu has approved the establishment of the association for the Namyeong-dong Business District Zone 2 urban maintenance-type redevelopment project.
The district reviewed the appropriateness of the association establishment consent rate, association bylaws, background checks of association executives, the inaugural general meeting, and other submitted documents, and notified the association of the approval result on the 14th.
The association formed a promotion committee two months after the designation of the Namyeong-dong Business District Zone 2 urban maintenance-type redevelopment project and the decision on the maintenance plan on August 18 last year. The inaugural general meeting was held in February this year, and the association submitted the application for establishment approval to Yongsan-gu on the 5th.
Namyeong-dong Business District Zone 2 covers an area of 17,658㎡ in Galwol-dong 92 area. It is located along Hangang-daero, within 100 meters of Namyeong Station on Subway Line 1 and Sookmyung Women’s University Station on Subway Line 4. It offers views of Namsan to the north and Yongsan Park to the east.
According to the current building plan submitted by the promotion committee, Namyeong-dong Business District Zone 2 will be developed with a building coverage ratio of 59.47% and a floor area ratio of 858.99%, consisting of two buildings with four towers up to 34 floors. The complex will include 565 residential units, 80 officetel units, a mixed-use office building, business facilities, and parking for 1,307 vehicles.
The basement floors 1 to 3 will house retail facilities. An underground pedestrian passage and above-ground access facilities will be installed to strengthen the connection between Namyeong Station and Sookmyung Women’s University Station and improve the walking environment for the mobility-impaired.
As part of public contributions, the Seoul Metropolitan Government public office and Namyeong-dong mixed-use office building will be housed, and the road on the north side of the site (Hangang-daero 87-gil) will be widened to improve surrounding traffic conditions.
Kim Seonsu, Acting Mayor, said, “Most of the association members have lived in the area for decades,” adding, “We will spare no administrative support to ensure that the residents who have long contributed to the development of the area can smoothly carry out the project.”
Seodaemun-gu Opens Temporary Community Center in Sinchon-dong
Shared Kitchen, Program Rooms, Large Auditorium Created... To Be Used Until Completion of Sinchon-dong Complex Office Building
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 24th that it has completed remodeling of the Sinchon-dong Community Center temporary office (48 Yonsei-ro 2na-gil) and recently held an opening ceremony.
During the construction period of the Sinchon-dong complex office building, the neighborhood community center moved to the existing community center building. To alleviate inconvenience caused by the lack of resident cultural and welfare facilities, construction began in October last year and was recently completed.
The remodeling focused on providing a “resident cultural and leisure space.”
The district remodeled the interior of the building previously used as a daycare center: the first floor was converted into offices and a shared kitchen, the second floor into program rooms and a multipurpose room, and the third floor into a large auditorium.
The opening ceremony was held on the 20th of this month in the front yard of the temporary community center, attended by local residents and key guests. The event included a progress report, congratulatory remarks, ribbon cutting, and a facility tour.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said in his greeting, “This temporary office will provide various programs and cultural events until the completion of the Sinchon-dong complex office building,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that residents can use the facilities comfortably and familiarly.”
