Jungnang-gu Provides 3.5 Billion KRW Loan Support to 63 Small and Medium Enterprises and Small Business Owners
2023 First Half Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund Loan Support
Up to 100 Million KRW per Company, Annual Interest Rate 1.5%, 2-Year Grace Period with 3-Year Equal Installment Repayment
Extension of Principal Repayment for Previously Supported SME Development Fund Loans Up to 6 Months
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is providing loans worth 3.5 billion KRW from the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund to a total of 63 small and medium enterprises and small business owners who are struggling with management due to the economic downturn and rising interest rates.
The 'Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund Loan Support' project offers loans at low interest rates to support the business activities of small and medium enterprises.
Earlier this year, the district accepted loan applications from small and medium enterprises and small business owners who have been operating their businesses in Jungnang-gu for more than three months. After a review of eligibility through a selection committee, the companies were finalized.
In particular, for this first half of the year, priority was given to companies applying for small loans of 50 million KRW or less to ensure that more benefits go to those who genuinely need support.
Selected companies can receive funds up to 100 million KRW per company at an annual interest rate of 1.5%. The repayment terms include a 2-year grace period followed by 3 years of equal installment repayments.
Additionally, to support small and medium enterprises and small business owners facing financial difficulties in repaying principal on fund loans, applications were accepted from 120 real estate-secured loan companies eligible for repayment deferral among those with principal repayments due in the first quarter of this year. Ultimately, 42 companies were approved to extend principal repayment by up to 6 months, totaling 2.736 billion KRW.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “In this difficult situation caused by high interest rates and inflation, I hope this loan support project and the extension of loan principal repayment deadlines will help alleviate financial difficulties even a little. We will continue to actively promote policies supporting small and medium enterprises and small business owners to provide practical assistance for stable management.”

Mayor Lee Soon-hee: “We Will Lead Efforts for the Rights and Happiness of Disabled Persons”
Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) held the '32nd Disabled Persons’ Unity Festival' on the 21st at the Well-being Sports Center, where over 500 disabled persons gathered and celebrated successfully.
This event commemorated the 43rd Disabled Persons’ Day and was hosted by the Gangbuk-gu Disabled Persons’ Association Federation (President Lee Seok-ho) with support from the district. The federation consists of 25 related organizations working for the rights of approximately 18,000 disabled persons in Gangbuk-gu.
The festival provided an opportunity for disabled persons to strengthen their will for rehabilitation and independence while actively participating in the local community.
Following an award ceremony honoring contributors, popular singers such as Pyeon Seung-yeop, Lim Hyun-jung, and Shin Il-guk performed celebratory shows, along with disabled persons’ singing and talent contests, receiving enthusiastic responses.
Mayor Lee Soon-hee stated, “Gangbuk-gu has the highest population of disabled persons among Seoul’s autonomous districts. In other words, it is a city where disabled persons can live well. I will take the lead so that local politicians can work together to secure budgets for disabled persons, enabling them to live more convenient and happy lives.”
