Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyungho) will host the 10th Seoul Fairy Tale Festival from May 6 to 7 at the Open Stage area of Seoul Children's Grand Park to celebrate Children's Day.
This year’s festival, themed "Children of Fairy Tale Land Who Love the Earth," will be filled with meaningful programs that foster a commitment to environmental protection. These include exhibitions and hands-on activities using easily discarded waste materials, as well as performances that share practical ways to love the environment in daily life.
On the first day, May 6, the festival will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with the "Fairy Tale Cosplay Parade," featuring the festival mascot Narumong and the Narumong Expedition, Korea Junior Big Band, Air Avatar, and Gwangjin-gu residents.
The parade will start at the main entrance of Children's Grand Park, pass through the Fountain Square, and proceed to the Open Stage area.
The official opening ceremony will include congratulatory performances by the Gwangjin-gu Youth Choir and the Mulpure Boys and Girls Choir. All attendees will join together to shout, "Narumong Expedition, Protect the Earth!" as part of the 10th anniversary opening ceremony of the Seoul Fairy Tale Festival.
At the Open Stage, a variety of performances tailored to children will offer both fun and inspiration, encouraging children to think and learn together.
On May 6, performances will include ▲Sound Circus ▲My Dad Is the Best ▲Fairy Tale Theater, while on May 7, ▲Red Bean Porridge Grandma and the Tiger ▲The Ugly Duckling ▲Children's Earth Environment Special Forces will take the stage.
There will also be exhibitions and hands-on programs for children and families to enjoy together, capturing the interest and attention of young visitors.
Exhibition and experience programs include the "World Fairy Tale Eco-Friendly Book Exhibition," where children can freely read classic fairy tales from Korea and abroad, a "Recycled Instrument Exhibition" with hands-on opportunities to play instruments made from waste materials, and an "Upcycled Dolls" display featuring endangered animals made from discarded clothing.
Other ongoing programs include "Picture Book Theater and Fairy Tale Storytelling," where children can read, listen, and experience fairy tales; the "Narumong Expedition," where Narumong and friends roam the festival grounds; and "Face Painting," where children can have their favorite fairy tale characters drawn on their faces, promising a fun-filled day for curious kids.
Additionally, to foster environmental awareness in children, there will be "Environmental Education" booths in collaboration with National Geographic, "Eco-Friendly Badge Making" operated by the Seoul Fairy Tale Center, and the "Quiz풀GO 체험하GO 지구살리GO" booth, where children can solve fun quizzes to learn about protecting the planet.

Seongdong-gu to Host 'WagleWagle' Village-Wide Grand Festival on Children's Day
In celebration of the 101st Children's Day, a variety of activities and performances will take place at Wangsimni Square from 1 p.m. on May 5
Mini train, air bounce rides, robots, drone experiences, and magic shows will delight children
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wonoh) announced that it will host the 13th Seongdong Village-Wide Grand Festival "WagleWagle" at Wangsimni Square from 1 p.m. on May 5, celebrating the 101st Children's Day.
This year marks the 13th edition of the festival, which will feature outdoor activity zones, an awards ceremony for children, and hands-on experience booths, offering a wide range of experiences and play opportunities for children to enjoy and participate in.
At the northern activity zone of Wangsimni Square, 14 different booths prepared by local child and youth organizations will offer activities such as making carnation headbands, paper letter frames, rainbow fans, silk screening, traditional games, and global experiences.
On the southern side of the square and the central road, safe play facilities such as air slides, obstacle air bounce, mini train, and Viking rides will be set up for children to enjoy with their whole bodies.

Additionally, a Fourth Industrial Revolution experience zone will allow children to explore smart future technologies such as robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, and VR experiences. There will also be safety (earthquake) experiences and magic shows for children to enjoy.
At the Rainbow Theater in the Seongdong Youth Center, the "Seongdong Children" awards ceremony will be held. Twenty-eight exemplary children will be selected and honored based on evaluations in areas such as social skills, creativity, and volunteerism, recognizing their outstanding conduct at home and school.
To ensure smooth operation, the central road of Wangsimni Square will be closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the event, allowing families to fully enjoy the expanded festival area.

Gangnam-gu (Mayor Cho Seongmyung) will host the "Gangnam Healing Theme Park" event at the Gangnam Healing Center (Gaepo) on Children's Day, May 5.
The "Gangnam Healing Theme Park" is a festival designed to celebrate Family Month in May, allowing families to enjoy healing experiences together in the city without traveling far. In particular, the Gaepo branch of the Gangnam Healing Center, surrounded by Gaepo Culture Park and nearby mountains, has been planned as a family theme park focused on healing programs that make the most of its nature-friendly setting.
The event will run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Main programs include ▲Forest Yoga on the Gaepo Culture Park lawn ▲Healing Sound Handpan Experience to relax body and mind ▲Five-Senses Aroma Therapy to create your own signature scent. These programs require advance reservation through the Gangnam-gu website.
On the outdoor lawn, there will be picnic and play zones for families to enjoy together. Exciting Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival Returns on Children's Day After Four Years

Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced that the "Children's Festival," which had been suspended due to COVID-19, will return for the first time in four years on May 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hongjecheon Waterfall Square area.
On the 101st Children's Day, eight themed zones (Fun, Decoration, Excitement, Sports, Family, Events, Experience, Food) with 60 booths will be set up along an 800-meter stretch of Hongjecheon Stream, from Baekryeon Bridge to Hongyeon 2 Bridge.
There will be a variety of performances throughout the day, including taekwondo demonstrations, magic and bubble shows, and recreational activities, as well as family-friendly hands-on programs such as making keychains and scented candles.
Participating local organizations will add to the excitement with military equipment exhibitions, armored vehicle ride experiences, and fire truck demonstrations. The festival is open to all families without prior registration.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, "We hope this will be a joyful festival for families to enjoy together in May, the month of family, and we will continue to work to create a community environment where children can play freely."
The Seodaemun-gu Children's Festival, now in its 13th year since its inception in 2008, attracts more than 20,000 participants annually. It is hosted by the Seoul Youth Filial Piety Volunteer Corps and supported by Seodaemun-gu, Seodaemun Fire Station, Army 56th Division, and Woncheon Church.

Eunpyeong-gu Recruiting Youth Participants for 'Eunpyeong Athlete Village'... "Make Friends While Exercising"
A special sports event to promote a healthy exercise culture among local youth
First-come, first-served recruitment of 20 participants aged 19-39 each month
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mikyung) is recruiting youth participants for the special sports event "Eunpyeong Athlete Village."
"Eunpyeong Athlete Village" is a sports program designed to foster relationships and promote health by offering athletic activities that any young person can easily learn and join.
Eligible participants are young people aged 19 to 39 who reside, work, or are active in Eunpyeong-gu.
The event features 10 sports, including dodgeball, color change, and mission relay, all designed to be easy to learn and enjoy. It will be held twice a month from April to September at the Seoul Innovation Park sports field, operating on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Currently, applications are being accepted for May participants, with 20 spots available each month on a first-come, first-served basis until September. Registration opens on the third Wednesday of the month prior to each event.
Youth wishing to participate can scan the QR code on the web poster to apply online. Those who complete the Athlete Village program will be eligible to participate in the "Eunpyeong Youth Sports Festival," which is scheduled for October.
