Psychological Counseling Support for Jeonse Fraud Victims in Michuhol-gu, Incheon... One-Month Operation of Mind Relief Bus

Incheon City has launched psychological recovery support for victims of jeonse fraud in Michuhol-gu.


The city announced on the 21st that, in cooperation with the Michuhol-gu Public Health Center, it will operate a visiting Mind Relief Bus until the 19th of next month to help the psychological recovery of victims of jeonse fraud.


The Mind Relief Bus is a specially designed mobile mental health service vehicle that provides on-site crisis response and trauma prevention psychological counseling during disasters, and offers visiting psychological support services to citizens in need of psychological recovery due to stress, depression, anxiety, and other issues during normal times.


The city plans to operate the Mind Relief Bus intensively for one month along the roadside in front of Dohwa Nursing Hospital, at the Michuhol-gu Public Health Center, and at Juin Park in Sungui-dong to support the psychological recovery of Michuhol-gu residents, including vulnerable groups such as victims of jeonse fraud.


The city provides comprehensive psychological testing and expert counseling for high-risk mental health groups, and if necessary, connects them with related institutions and supports treatment costs.

Since December 2021, the Mind Relief Bus has met with about 300 citizens on average more than 12 times a month. So far, approximately 4,500 people, including university students, company workers, and COVID-19 response personnel, have used the service.


The city also operates a 24-hour mental health counseling hotline (1577-0199) for consultations in case of mental crisis related to jeonse fraud.


When calling, experts such as mental health professionals from metropolitan and basic mental health welfare centers provide necessary counseling services including suicide crisis counseling, mental health counseling for depression and anxiety, mental health information, and guidance to mental health medical institutions.
