All-Out Effort to Secure Top Talent
Samsung SDI announced on the 14th that it has launched a recruitment drive for experienced professionals.
Samsung SDI stated on the 21st that it is conducting an unprecedented large-scale recruitment of experienced professionals for over 50 positions across all divisions, including the Medium & Large Battery Division, Small Battery Division, Electronic Materials Division, and SDI Research Institute.
The Medium & Large Battery Division, Small Battery Division, SDI Research Institute, and Global Process & Equipment Development Center are hiring talent in core technology fields such as lithium-ion battery and next-generation battery cell platform, process, product development, electrode plate process, and equipment development. The Electronic Materials Division is recruiting professionals related to semiconductor process materials and display material development. Additionally, recruitment is underway in support areas such as quality, safety and environment, management, and SCM planning.
Samsung SDI will accept applications until the 28th and finalize hiring through document screening, interviews, and health checkups. Candidates with more than four years of relevant experience after obtaining a bachelor's degree are preferred, and those with master's or doctoral degrees (or expected degrees) will have their study period recognized as work experience. Detailed information about the experienced professional recruitment can be found on 'Samsung Careers.'
The reason Samsung SDI is undertaking such a large-scale recruitment of experienced professionals is that the company is rapidly growing, the market is expanding, and competition is intensifying, making securing top talent even more critical. Since CEO Yoonho Choi took office in December 2021, he has continuously emphasized the importance of securing and nurturing talent alongside the swift execution of three management policies: 'unmatched technological competitiveness,' 'best quality,' and 'qualitative growth with profitability advantage.'
Last year, Samsung SDI made every effort to secure talent by having Research Institute Head Hyuk Jang (Vice President) and key development executives from each business division directly hold 'Tech & Career Forums' targeting PhD-level professionals in Korea and New York, USA. To cultivate and secure outstanding battery talent, Samsung SDI laid the groundwork for future talent development by signing battery talent cultivation agreements last year with Sungkyunkwan University and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), following earlier agreements in 2021 with Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Seoul National University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and Hanyang University.
Regarding the large-scale recruitment announcement, Jaewoo Ahn, Head of Samsung SDI People Team (Vice President), said, "By hiring outstanding domestic and international talent, Samsung SDI will strengthen its unmatched technological competitiveness and firmly advance as a global leading company. We ask for the interest and applications of those who will lead Samsung SDI’s future competitiveness."
