The theme of this event is 'Picnic on the Art Road,' and it will be held from the 22nd to June 24th around Marronnier Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The event will be operated through four programs: ▲Art Road Performances ▲Art Road Sponsorship ▲Art Road Theater ▲Art Road Museum.

The Art Road Performances consist of street plays and reading performances for children, held every other Saturday in the front yard of Arko Arts Theater. On the first day, the 22nd, there will be the reading performance 'April’s Fairy Tale' by actors Park Hye-su and Park Jeong-mi, and the puppet play 'Zeralda and the Giant' by Theater Company Munui. The reading performances will be held twice per session at noon and 2 p.m., and the street plays twice per session at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., each lasting 30 minutes.

The Art Road Sponsorship will also take place in the front yard of Arko Arts Theater. Through experience booths for children such as 'My Child’s First Donation, Planting an Art Tree' and 'Making Art Tree Keyrings,' participants can experience sponsorship in the cultural and artistic fields. This program runs for five hours starting from 11 a.m.

The Art Road Theater, operating continuously, features the 5-meter large puppet exhibition 'Gulliver Puppet Exhibition' and the 'Reading Theater' in the lobby of Arko Arts Theater. Every other Saturday, experiential programs such as 'Decorating Coloring Postcards' and 'Postcard Exhibition' will be held.

The Art Road Museum offers a docent-led thematic exhibition tour titled 'Memory·Space' every Saturday for children. Through guided tours, children can experience new forms of art and have opportunities to increase their interest.

Every other Saturday, the art company SPL, composed of installation artists, will hold the 'Arko Atelier Upcycling Drawing Workshop,' where children freely draw using recycled discarded coffee grounds.

The drawings created by children participating in the program will be exhibited at the museum’s project space from July 28th to 30th. The museum programs operate on a pre-registration basis.

An official from the Arts Council said, "This year marks the 100th anniversary of children and youth theater and the Declaration of the Liberation of Children. One hundred years ago, Sofa Bang Jeong-hwan opened the door to story plays that reflected children’s voices by viewing the world through children’s eyes. To commemorate this, the Arts Council has prepared performances, exhibitions, and experiential programs that enhance children’s imagination."
