Lee Pil-su, President of the Korean Medical Association, Donates Relief Funds to Gangneung Wildfire-Affected Areas

Lee Pil-su, President of the Korean Medical Association, visited Gangneung City, Gangwon Province, which suffered significant damage from the wildfire on the 20th, and donated 10 million KRW in disaster relief funds.

The KMA has been consistently providing disaster relief funds to domestic and international areas affected by natural disasters and in need of humanitarian aid. President Lee said, "We prepared and delivered the donation to offer some support to the victims affected by the unexpected wildfire," adding, "All 140,000 members of the Korean Medical Association sincerely hope that the victims can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."

On the same day, the Gangwon Medical Association and the Gangneung Medical Association each donated 5 million KRW as disaster relief funds. At the donation ceremony, Roh Young-jun, President of the Gangneung Medical Association, said, "Since Gangneung City was declared a special disaster area on the 12th, there has been a need for assistance, which led us to provide the donation," adding, "We will do our best to support medical aid in the Gangneung area."

Currently, the Gangneung Medical Association is providing medical support to affected residents throughout Gangneung City and is conducting night-time medical services until the 21st. They are fully committed to support activities aimed at protecting the health and lives of local community members to minimize the aftereffects of the wildfire.
