"Try Setting Fire" - 60-Year-Old Actually Sets Neighbor's House on Fire After Dispute

A man in his 60s, angered by frequent quarrels, set fire to his neighbor's house, reducing the residence to ashes.

On the 20th, the Hamyang Police Station in Gyeongnam announced that they had booked Mr. A, a man in his 60s, without detention on arson charges for setting fire to his neighbor's house in a fit of rage.

According to the police, Mr. A, who often quarreled with neighbors over the storage of construction materials in a village in Jideok-myeon, Hamyang-gun, poured gasoline and set fire to the house of Mr. B, also in his 60s, at around 10:30 a.m. on the 19th.

The fire was extinguished by responding firefighters after one hour and 30 minutes, and no casualties occurred, but Mr. B's house was completely burned down.

Mr. B, who moved to this area last year, was known to have frequent conflicts with neighbors including Mr. A.

On that day, the two had a minor argument on the street, during which Mr. A said, "I will set your house on fire," and when Mr. B challenged, "Go ahead and set it on fire," Mr. A went to his house, brought gasoline, and set the fire.

During the police investigation, Mr. A admitted to the crime, and the police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on the same day while conducting a thorough investigation of the circumstances.
