Hyosung Donates 100 Million Won to Support Creative Activities of Disabled Artists

Hyosung supports the creative activities of artists with disabilities.

On the 19th, Hyosung visited the Seoul Disability Arts Creation Center located in Hyehwa-dong, Jongno-gu, and donated 100 million KRW. This sponsorship fund will be used to support the creative activities of six resident artists of the 13th cohort at the Seoul Disability Arts Creation Center (Song Sangwon, Kim Jinju, Park Youseok, Choi Seoeun, Raumcon, Yoo Dayoung).

The resident artists at the Seoul Disability Arts Creation Center receive support for materials, planned exhibitions, and expert matching programs to enhance their capabilities. This year, an open studio for resident artists was newly established to open their studios to the public, broadening understanding of the artists' creative activities. Additionally, a disabled artist of the year will be selected and awarded through a public contest.

Since 2018, Hyosung has continued to support the activation of creative activities for resident artists at the Seoul Disability Arts Creation Center. In 2020, Hyosung was recognized for these efforts and selected as an excellent public-private cooperation institution by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyunjoon has consistently emphasized, "Through continuous support for culture and arts, I want to create a society where more citizens can experience culture and arts up close and share that inspiration together."

A Hyosung representative stated, "To create a society that grows together without barriers caused by disabilities, we are engaged in various social contribution activities in the cultural and artistic fields, such as sponsoring barrier-free films for the visually and hearing impaired and supporting the intellectual disability orchestra Onnuri Sarang Chamber."
