Yang Chung-mo, President of Namgonghoe (former head of Saemangeum Development Agency), said, "Although my body is far from my hometown, my heart is always there," and added, "Though my contribution may be small, I will actively support the Hometown Love Donation Program, which is a natural duty as a Namwon person, for securing the national budget and the development of my hometown Namwon."
The city stated that it will continue to expand opportunities for exchange and cooperation as well as networks not only with hometown officials but also with expatriates, strengthening relationships as partners in city administration development.
Meanwhile, Namgonghoe was established in 1995 with Lee Kang-jong, former head of the Korean National Police University, as its first president. It is composed of about 350 members who are from Namwon and work in central government ministries and public institutions.
