T'way Air announced on the 19th that it conducted an industrial safety enhancement program to ensure worker safety and prevent serious accidents.
On the 18th, T'way Air invited Kim Jong-ho, Director of the Industrial Accident Prevention Guidance Division at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, to the training center lecture hall at Gimpo Airport. The session aimed to raise awareness of the importance of industrial safety and health consciousness and strengthen responsibility required in the airline industry.
Attending the special lecture were CEO Jung Hong-geun, responsible executives, key safety and health managers from each division, and employees of partner companies. They reviewed the importance of the recently announced government 'Serious Accident Reduction Roadmap' and discussed current issues regarding the 'establishment of an autonomous prevention system tailored to workplace characteristics,' as well as efficient measures that can be applied on-site.
T'way Air established an Industrial Safety and Health Team four years ago to strengthen safety management. Industrial safety supervisors have also been appointed in departments responsible for flight operations, cabin services, maintenance, and transportation to operate a thorough safety and health management system.
Additionally, a 'Joint Safety and Health Inspection' involving the CEO is conducted quarterly. Through emergency response, fire response, and work environment inspections at airport branches and aircraft sites, potential hazards are proactively blocked. This regular and meticulous inspection system also promotes employees' safety awareness and accident prevention activities.
A T'way Air official stated, “This special lecture is an effort to strengthen safety awareness and establish a prevention system for employees working in various fields such as aircraft maintenance, cargo transportation, and baggage loading, which are characteristic of the aviation industry. We will continue to maintain rigorous safety and health management to ensure safe work for our employees and the safe operation of aircraft.”
