Haman County in Gyeongnam signed a business agreement with the non-profit corporation Haman Gilcheon-sa on the 14th to promote animal welfare cooperation.
Through this agreement, Haman County and Haman Gilcheon-sa discussed efficient measures for the overall operation of the Haman County abandoned animal shelter.
With the establishment of Haman Gilcheon-sa as a corporation in February this year, they also agreed to mutually cooperate on activating adoption measures for abandoned animals occurring in Haman.
As a result of this business agreement, Haman Gilcheon-sa will be able to receive necessary support for the rescue, temporary protection, and adoption of abandoned animals occurring in Haman County.
The county expects that through promotion, events, and other activities related to animal protection carried out by Haman Gilcheon-sa, awareness and practice of animal welfare and protection will improve, contributing to the enhancement of animal welfare in the local community and greatly aiding the creation of a happy city, Haman, where companion animals coexist.
Kim Young-bok, CEO of Haman Gilcheon-sa, said, “Through this business agreement, we expect to carry out animal adoption and rescue activities more systematically and efficiently, and we ask for continuous mutual cooperation and solidarity in the future.”
County Governor Jo Geun-je said, “Animal welfare and protection are social responsibilities that all residents must practice together,” and added, “We will do our best to spread a mature companion animal culture in the local community together with Haman Gilcheon-sa.”
