Lee Jumi, Triumphs on 147th Attempt to Secure First KLPGA Victory

Mediheal·Hankook Ilbo Championship Wins with 12-Under Par
Winner's Prize Money 180 Million Won

Lee Joo-mi secured her first victory in her 148th appearance on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.

On the 16th, Lee Joo-mi shot a 4-under-par 68 with five birdies and one bogey in the final round of the KLPGA Tour Mediheal·Hankook Ilbo Championship (total prize money of 1 billion KRW) held at Ferrum Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,652 yards). She finished with a total score of 12-under-par 276, edging out Park Hyun-kyung, who scored 10-under-par 278, by two strokes to claim the top spot. She also took home the winner's prize of 180 million KRW.


This victory marks Lee Joo-mi's first trophy since debuting on the KLPGA regular tour in 2015. Prior to this, her best result in 147 regular tour events was a 5th place finish at the Daebo House Open in July 2021.


Lee Joo-mi led the tournament through the second round but dropped to a tie for 4th place, two strokes behind the leader, after the third round. In the final round, she engaged in a tough battle for the title against defending champion Park Ji-young and tour powerhouses Park Min-ji and Park Hyun-kyung. Demonstrating strong finishing power with birdies on the 13th hole (par 4) and consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes, she achieved a come-from-behind victory.


Additionally, Kim Min-byeol, Park Min-ji, Kim Su-ji, Lee Ga-young, and Jeon Ye-seong all finished tied for 3rd place with scores of 9-under-par 279. Park Ji-young, who led after the third round, lost three strokes on the day and ended with a total of 7-under-par 281, tying for 8th place with Jung Yoon-ji.
