Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has established seven detailed improvement measures to efficiently shorten the processing period for building permits and approvals.
Previously, Yongin City formed a permit improvement task force led by First Deputy Mayor Ryu Gwang-yeol, including 11 related departments.
After three meetings, the task force prepared improvement plans such as ▲ operating a concentrated processing period for expedited handling ▲ establishing processing guidelines ▲ creating a database of major cases and providing training for external stakeholders ▲ enhancing the job competency of permit officers ▲ proposing improvements to related systems ▲ managing current status through thorough supervision and guidance ▲ and reviewing exemption from liability for proactive administrative actions.
Among these, the operation of a concentrated processing period to resolve long delays in the permit process, the establishment of a major case database that collects frequently requested supplementary and consultation materials during the permit process, and the distribution of a pre-inspection checklist will be implemented immediately by the related departments.
Additionally, education based on the collected cases, system improvements to enhance work efficiency, and requests for cooperation from external consultation agencies will be carried out promptly.
In particular, during the concentrated processing period operating until June, exemption from liability for proactive administrative actions will be reviewed for matters decided quickly.
A city official emphasized, "We will establish detailed execution plans for each department and regularly check the status to prevent complaints caused by delays in permits in advance."
