On the afternoon of the 14th, the district prepared 1,000 packs of ramen and about 300 snack packages including Choco Pie to support residents of Gangneung-si who are struggling due to the wildfire damage, and personally delivered them to the disaster victim shelters.

All Gangseo-gu employees, including District Mayor Kim Tae-woo, are voluntarily raising funds to support disaster victims who lost their homes due to the sudden wildfire, and plan to deliver the donations to Gangneung through the Community Chest of Korea.

Additionally, once the damage verification process in Gangneung-si is completed, the district plans to deploy 40 volunteers, 10 environmental officers, one water spraying truck, and two roll-off boxes for waste collection, along with manpower and equipment, to the wildfire damage site to carry out emergency relief activities.

Beyond this emergency support, the district will also consider additional assistance to help its sister city Gangneung depending on the recovery situation.

District Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "Helping each other in difficult times is naturally what sister cities should do," and added, "We will mobilize all available resources to support our sister city Gangneung so that the residents affected by the large wildfire can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."

Gangseo-gu has extended warm relief efforts whenever disasters occurred in Gangneung, such as in 2019 and 2022, by donating relief supplies equivalent to two 2.5-ton trucks and 11.23 million KRW in designated funds to assist disaster victims in Ok-gye-myeon, Gangneung-si.
