The 9th National Safety Day... 'National Safety Practice Rally' Held

Over 200 Participants Including Public Officials and General Citizens

The government held the "National Safety Practice Rally" event at the Government Sejong Convention Center on the 16th to commemorate the 9th National Safety Day.


Prime Minister Han Duck-soo attended the event, which was participated by over 200 people including central government ministries, local governments, public institutions, private organizations, and ordinary citizens, to raise safety awareness and pledge to practice safety.


The 9th National Safety Day... 'National Safety Practice Rally' Held

The "National Safety Practice Rally" proceeded in the order of ▲opening declaration, ▲singing of the national anthem, ▲congratulatory address, ▲policy briefing, ▲reading of the safety practice pledge, and ▲safety practice performance.


The event began with an opening declaration containing the meaning of practicing safety in daily life by invited safety practice neighbors, student Shin Min-je (16, 1st year at Yeouido High School) and student Lee Soo-min (19, 3rd year at Chungju Commercial High School).


Following the Prime Minister’s congratulatory address and introduction of the comprehensive plan for the national safety system reform, the reading of the safety practice pledge was conducted, with representatives from the general public, civic groups, companies, educational institutions, government, and local governments pledging to practice safety on behalf of their social communities.


In addition to the National Safety Practice Rally event, various side events commemorating National Safety Day and the operation of National Safety Week are also being held.


Kim Sung-ho, Director of the Disaster and Safety Management Headquarters, stated, “On the occasion of National Safety Day, we hope that the public will take an interest in safety and participate in creating a safe Republic of Korea by practicing safety,” and added, “The government will also do its best to make the daily lives of the people safe from disasters.”
