On the 14th, Seo Yo-seop shot a 5-under-par 67 in the second round of the 2023 KPGA Korean Tour season opener, the 18th DB Insurance Promy Open (total prize money 700 million KRW), held at the Old Course of La Vie Est Belle Country Club in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. He rose to a joint lead with Jeon Sung-hyun at 10-under-par 134, maintaining a shared first place for two consecutive days following the first round.

Seo Yo-seop displayed excellent form with six birdies on the day, following seven birdies the previous day. He said, "My iron shots were especially good today," adding, "The wind was calmer and the temperature was higher than in the first round, making it easier to play." He also noted, "I expect the pin positions to be tricky in rounds 3 and 4," and added, "I will play more conservatively and steadily rather than aggressively compared to rounds 1 and 2."

Jeon Sung-hyun shot a 6-under-par 66 to leap into a tie for the lead. Since debuting on the KPGA Korean Tour in 2016, Jeon’s best career finish was second place at last year’s Bizplay Electronic Newspaper Open. He said, "Several opportunities come each season, but I have narrowly missed winning each time," and vowed, "I will play with confidence and focus on targeting my iron shots."

Defending champion Park Sang-hyun recorded eight birdies for a 6-under-par 66, moving up to a tie for fourth place at 8-under-par 136, two strokes behind the leaders. Kim Seung-hyuk, who has four career wins and was the 2017 money leader, also stands tied for fourth alongside Park Sang-hyun heading into the third round. Jang Hee-min and Go Gun-taek, who shared the lead on the first day, each improved by two strokes to finish the second round tied for sixth at 7-under-par 137.
