Exhibition of Dolmen Site Featuring Towering Spring Flowers and Various Floral Sculptures
Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it is accelerating the creation of an exhibition hall to promote local agricultural specialties and tourism resources at the '2023 Hwasun Dolmen Festival' venue.
The main exhibition areas of this festival are divided into three zones: ▲ Chunyang Dolmen Site ▲ Dogok Dolmen Site ▲ and the Megalith Theme Park, each featuring a different theme.
The three themes, presented alongside flowers, are ▲ Hwasun Agricultural Products Zone to promote Hwasun's agricultural specialties, ▲ Bronze Age Hwasun National Treasure Zone exhibiting flower sculptures shaped like Bronze Age artifacts excavated from Daegok-ri, Dogok-myeon, a national treasure of Hwasun, and ▲ Exotic Garden Zone, harmonizing with the exotic spaces such as the Moai statues in the Megalith Theme Park.
The Agricultural Technology Center specially created new flower sculptures shaped like patterned pottery, paljugyeong, and ssangjugyeong excavated in Hwasun for this exhibition, and plans to create a three-dimensional outdoor flower exhibition space combined with large flower towers and agricultural specialty product characters.
Additionally, various sculptures such as the Reclining Buddha, Dolmen Gate, rose pillars, and candle sculptures will be arranged with spring flowers to provide diverse attractions for tourists.
In particular, a photo zone has been created in the 10.8-hectare canola field, where tourists have been visiting and taking photos, marveling at the canola field dyed in bright yellow even before the festival begins.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “We were worried about cold damage to the flowers due to the late cold spell, but as the festival period approaches and the weather warms up, we will fully engage in festival preparations from now on to ensure a successful event. We aim for this festival to not only offer visual attractions but also serve as a platform to promote Hwasun's agricultural specialties, contributing to the increase of local income.”
