Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Partners with Danggeun Market Nationwide for the First Time to Share Jobs and Information

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Byung-gyu) has partnered with Danggeun Market Co., Ltd. (CEOs Kim Yong-hyun and Hwang Do-yeon) for the first time nationwide to share jobs and information.

On the 13th, Gwangsan-gu announced that it signed an agreement with Danggeun Market to establish a public-private collaboration platform that easily and quickly connects citizens with necessary local information such as public jobs and shared spaces.

The signing ceremony was attended by Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, Park Sang-jin, Head of Vertical Business at Danggeun Market Co., Ltd., and Gong Byung-cheol, Chair of the Economic Welfare Committee of the Gwangsan-gu Council.

'Danggeun Gwangsan' is a project that Gwangsan-gu is attempting for the first time in the country together with Danggeun Market Co., Ltd., a leading domestic local lifestyle community service that connects information and people based on local location information.

Danggeun Market, which provides various local community functions such as secondhand trading, part-time jobs, and neighborhood life, had a cumulative membership of 33 million as of last year.

The 'Danggeun Gwangsan Project' aims to build a public-private collaboration platform that combines the advantages of Danggeun Market, with its large user base and excellent accessibility, with public information such as jobs and information held by Gwangsan-gu to provide citizens with new value and opportunities to participate in social and economic activities.

This project mainly consists of three parts: ▲'Private Citizen-type Gwangsan Citizen Allowance' to expand jobs that realize social value and allow anyone to participate when given the opportunity ▲'Gwangsan-type Subscription Office,' where anyone can subscribe to public facility idle spaces as needed ▲and the establishment of channels where public institutions directly provide information and communicate with local residents.

By posting job recruitment information for the Gwangsan Citizen Allowance on the Danggeun Market app, nearby citizens can check, apply, and participate in jobs.

This method lowers the 'threshold' by allowing any citizen to obtain and use job information without complicated procedures, and it is also expected to have a 'gap connection' effect that links places urgently needing help, such as meal assistance at senior centers and organizing books at small libraries, with citizens looking for jobs to utilize their spare time.

Additionally, plans include introducing a 'subscription system' where freelancers and one-person business owners can use idle public facility spaces as their own offices anytime, and communication channels that allow easy access to useful information and statistics from public institutions without complicated procedures.

After the business agreement on this day, a meeting was held to share opinions for the successful promotion of the 'Danggeun Gwangsan Project.'

The district plans to establish a service system that is convenient and efficient for actual citizens through continuous communication and consultation with Danggeun Market Co., Ltd.

Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, “The Danggeun Gwangsan Project will be Korea’s first innovative case where local governments and private platforms collaborate to support citizens’ social value realization activities and revitalize the region. We will ensure the pilot project succeeds this year and expand the project into various areas of citizens’ daily lives.”
