License Cancellation Threshold... "No Room for Excuse"
Singer Nam Taehyun (30) has been referred to the prosecution on charges of drunk driving.
According to the police on the 13th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul sent Nam Taehyun to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office last month on the 23rd on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
Nam Taehyun is accused of moving a few meters while intoxicated in a resident-priority parking zone on a road in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 3:20 a.m. on the 8th of last month.
At the time, it is known that Nam Taehyun opened the door of his parked car while waiting for a designated driver and collided with a passing taxi. The taxi's right side mirror was damaged in the accident, and it was reported that he reached an agreement with the taxi driver. He was investigated for driving and moving the vehicle after the minor collision.
At the time of detection, Nam Taehyun's blood alcohol concentration was 0.114%, exceeding the license cancellation level (0.08%).
The police booked Nam Taehyun without detention and concluded it was drunk driving after one summons investigation.
At that time, his agency stated, "Nam Taehyun did not drive tens of meters after colliding with the taxi but moved forward about 5 meters and then parked." It was explained that Nam Taehyun, who was waiting for a designated driver on the day of the accident, took the wheel to move his car, which was blocking other vehicles.
Nam Taehyun apologized, saying, "I bow my head and apologize for causing concern due to my mistake," and added, "There is no excuse for the wrongdoing caused by my reckless judgment."
Meanwhile, Nam Taehyun debuted in 2014 as a member of the group WINNER but withdrew after two years. He is currently active in the band South Club.
