Acquiring Know-How for Eco-Friendly Cultivation
The 2023 Yeongdeok Eco-friendly Agriculture University’s peach class trainees, organized by the Agricultural Technology Center of Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, conducted field training on the 12th by touring six leading farms in the area to observe the cultivation status by variety and pruning conditions.

The 33 trainees participating in this training spent a valuable time comparing the conditions of each farm and applying the theoretical knowledge they had learned.
In particular, through a Q&A session on the importance and significance of eco-friendly peaches cultivated in Yeongdeok-gun, distribution and prospects, and pest and disease management, they reaffirmed the value of eco-friendly crops.
Yeongdeok Eco-friendly Agriculture University has been operating since 2006 with courses in fruit trees, beekeeping, and specialty crops, playing a leading role in cultivating professional agricultural personnel across the entire agricultural sector, from production to processing and the sixth industrialization.
This year, with the educational goal of producing high-quality peaches and training experts, the program started in February and is being conducted over a total of 18 sessions and 78 hours, including seven classes on peach management, variety selection, dormant pruning, and fruit set management.
Park Byeong-dae, director of the county Agricultural Technology Center, said, “I hope this field training helped resolve farmers’ questions and was a helpful time,” adding, “We will continue to promote educational programs that can solve farming difficulties and improve efficiency.”
