Gyeonggi-do Saemin Financial Welfare Center Handles 126,000 Consultations... Also Receives Thank-You Letters A Thank You Handwritten Letter Sent by a Senior in Their 70s to the Gyeonggi-do Community Financial Welfare Center

The Gyeonggi Financial Welfare Center has conducted 126,000 consultations since its opening.

The Gyeonggi Financial Welfare Center announced on the 13th that since its opening in July 2015, it has provided 126,524 services to 79,285 people over more than seven years until March of this year.

The center has expanded from 7 locations at its initial opening to 19 locations currently. Recently, starting with the Yongin Center, it has been working on improving space design to provide psychological stability where people can easily share their debt concerns.

Nam Sang-eun, Director of the Provincial Welfare Policy Division, stated, "Residents who visit the center tend to show emotional anxiety and psychological withdrawal due to long-term deteriorated finances, and they are afraid to even inform their families. Therefore, we strive to provide debt solutions suitable for each counseling situation and offer detailed consultations, and if necessary, connect them to welfare services."

Recently, the center also received a handwritten thank-you letter from a senior citizen in their 70s, Mr. A. Mr. A had lent a large sum of money to an acquaintance and was unable to properly collect interest, leading to a difficult life for two years due to card loans and other debts. He was guided by the Administrative Welfare Center and visited the Gyeonggi Financial Welfare Center's Western Region Center in November last year.

With the help of a financial welfare counselor over four months at this center, Mr. A was able to use his available assets to settle his problematic debts early and escape collection pressures. On the 28th of last month, Mr. A sent a handwritten letter of gratitude to the center, saying, "I can now dream of a peaceful old age."
