Medytox conducted special lectures and mentoring programs by its researchers to help Hamhyeon Middle School students with their career choices. Junho Lee, a senior researcher at Medytox, gave a lecture titled ‘What Do Biologists Study?’ highlighting the professional appeal of researchers, while Wonho Kang, another senior researcher, delivered a lecture titled ‘The Role of New Drug Development and Preclinical Research,’ explaining the unfamiliar process of new drug development in an easy-to-understand manner for the students. After the lectures, the researchers formed groups with the students to conduct mentoring sessions, communicating with them and providing advice on their career paths.

Seungbeom Lee (14), a student who participated in the event, said, “I have always been interested in biology, and it was great to learn more advanced content beyond the school curriculum. As I dream of becoming a scientist, participating in this event was very helpful in making a concrete career decision.”

Heeseok Joo, Vice President of Medytox, said, “We hope this event serves as a valuable opportunity to help young people who will lead the future K-bio industry understand and develop interest in the bio and pharmaceutical fields. Medytox will continue to expand career experience opportunities and provide various support to assist youths with their career concerns.”

Medytox signed an MOU in February with Gyeonggi-do, Gyeonggi-do Office of Education, and Gyeonggi-do Youth Training Center to minimize blind spots in career education for middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do and to provide career experience opportunities for youths in rural and vulnerable areas by utilizing the Gwanggyo R&D Center and its researchers. Medytox is participating in the Gyeonggi-do Career Experience Program that connects students and companies. Starting with this event, additional programs targeting middle and high school students in Gyeonggi-do will be continuously conducted.
