Travel and Activity Platform 'Excrew' Secures Pre-Series A Investment

Travel and activity platform startup Excrew has secured investment again this year following last year. It is expected to accelerate its expansion with the investment funds.


According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 13th, Excrew recently completed a Pre-Series A funding round. Accelerator (AC) Kimgisa Lab participated in this round. This additional funding was secured just six months after receiving investments from Kyowon and Home&Shopping.


Founded in November 2020, Excrew has been steadily securing external funds since receiving seed investment from AC SparkLabs last year. Despite the overall contraction in investment sentiment, it has been recognized for its growth potential and is receiving 'love calls' from various investors.


Excrew is an activity platform that makes everyday life special. Its main customer base consists of single-person households from the MZ generation. It offers various after-work activities for those who want to enjoy healthy leisure after work. The platform focuses on personalized tours and activities tailored to individual interests, preferences, and purposes.


This personalized service started from concerns about the entry barriers to activities. It was judged that enjoying activities was difficult due to ticket/pass-type products on similar platforms, the absence of reliable acquaintances or helpers, and advertising information appearing during portal and SNS searches.


Therefore, the business was started to lower the entry barriers to activities and provide valuable experiences to customers. Excrew's service has thousands of crew members who share their own hidden spots and know-how, and together they offer special schedules, resulting in a verified collection of over 10,000 activities.


The usage method is simple. Customers directly select and pay for crews and activities that match their preferences. Investing just 3 minutes is enough to choose a worthwhile activity. The crew takes full responsibility for ensuring customers have a failure-free travel and activity experience from A to Z.


Excrew is not simply a commerce solution selling activity products but aims to build a community and network between crews and customers. After activities, customers tag their Excrew accounts and make recommendations, thereby accumulating new experiences among customers.


Recently, Excrew collaborated with Kyowon Group. Together with Kyowon The Suite Hotel, they conducted the 'Gyeongju Run Trip Project' targeting the MZ generation. With Kyowon Tour, they planned the 'Japan Cherry Blossom Run Trip.' As the COVID-19 pandemic ends and the travel market revives, these projects are gaining more attention.
