K-Ultra Pure Water for Semiconductors Surpasses Japanese Companies... SK Siltron Wins Bid

EN Corporation announced on the 12th that its subsidiary Hanseong Cleantec has succeeded in developing 'high-purity industrial water' (hereinafter referred to as 'ultrapure water').

Since July 2021, Hanseong Cleantec has been participating in a national project to develop domestic plant technology for the production process of 'high-purity industrial water' (hereinafter referred to as 'ultrapure water'). Recently, they completed the construction and commissioning of a 1,200 tons/day ultrapure water demonstration plant in phase 1, and after completing performance verification such as water quality tests suitable for semiconductor ultrapure water supply, they announced success in technological independence through localization.

Since the 10th, K-ultrapure water produced at the demonstration plant has been pilot-supplied to the semiconductor wafer process at Gumi SK Siltron, and full-scale supply is scheduled to begin in May.

Based on the successful experience of the ultrapure water localization demonstration plant, Hanseong Cleantec recently won an order worth approximately 83.6 billion KRW from Gumi SK Siltron, competing against Japanese companies, covering everything from design to procurement of equipment and construction of large-capacity ultrapure water manufacturing facilities.

An EN Corporation official stated, "By successfully supplying ultrapure water manufactured with Hanseong Cleantec's domestic technology to SK Siltron, we will take the lead in technological independence and semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment independence in the ultrapure water market, which has been monopolized by Japanese companies."

He also added, "With the government's vision to invest about 300 trillion KRW mainly in the metropolitan area to build the world's largest system semiconductor cluster, Hanseong Cleantec, as a representative materials, parts, and equipment company possessing not only core ultrapure water technology essential for semiconductor processes but also EPC capabilities across the entire water treatment process, will have a great opportunity to expand sales in the semiconductor sector."

Meanwhile, Hanseong Cleantec, a 100% subsidiary of EN Corporation, has proven its capabilities as an industrial water treatment technology company both domestically and internationally. It has established corporations in Hungary and Vietnam and is focusing its capabilities on overseas projects. It is actively diversifying its sales areas by carrying out overseas projects such as the seawater desalination plant project for Lotte Chemical in Indonesia, water treatment facility construction for Emco Technology in Vietnam, and orders for air conditioning equipment for SKon secondary battery processes in Hungary.
