"Struggling to Make a Living Due to License Suspension" - Outrage Over the Plea of a Third-Time Drunk Driving Offender

Amid rising anger over recent repeated drunk driving accidents and lenient punishments, a habitual drunk driver posted a complaint saying, "My head is in a mess thinking about spending the 2-year license disqualification period without a car," only to face fierce criticism from netizens.

On a popular online community, a post titled "A post from a drunk driver on a drunk driving relief cafe" was uploaded on the 10th.

The author first posted on the 5th in a cafe where people who have been criminally and administratively punished for drunk driving gather.

The author introduced himself as having been caught for drunk driving three times and said, "I always live as a sinner because of my own wrong actions. This is the only place I can complain."

He wrote, "From today, the 2-year (license) disqualification period begins. How should I endure it for 2 years? Life is hard without a license, so today is a really confusing day."

He continued, "Every year in spring, summer, fall, and winter, I always owned a caravan or bus camper, enjoyed camping, and drove a Harley motorcycle," adding, "Now that I can't do that, my wife is so upset that she tells me to get out of the house."

The author wrote, "Everyone, stay strong, think of it as experience, and let's overcome it well."

However, netizens expressed anger rather than comfort after reading this post. There was also controversy over the recent court ruling that sentenced a defendant to the statutory minimum of 3 years in prison for the third drunk driving offense that caused a pedestrian's death.

Netizens said, "No conscience and no sense," "Even a lifetime of atonement is not enough, yet he is complaining about his fate," and "Be grateful for a lifetime that you did not harm other families while you were out for the third strike."

The author also shared methods in this cafe for habitual drunk drivers to receive favorable rulings in administrative trials.
