A summary indictment is a procedure in which the prosecution requests the court to impose a fine or penalty through written examination instead of a formal trial, and if neither the party nor the court expresses the intention to refer the case to a formal trial, the sentence is finalized.

Kwak Do-won is accused of driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) for about 11 km near the intersection close to Bongseong-ri Office in Aewol-eup, after leaving a bar in Geumnung-ri, Hallim-eup, Jeju City, on the morning of September 25 last year at around 4 a.m., with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.158%, which far exceeds the license cancellation level (0.08%).

Kwak Do-won also gave a ride to A, dropping him off in Hyeopjae-ri, Hallim-eup, about 2 km away from the bar. After dropping off A, he fell asleep while waiting at a nearby intersection.

The police responded to a resident's report around 5 a.m. that a car parked on the road was not moving and found Kwak Do-won asleep inside the car.

At the time, through his agency Mada Entertainment, Kwak Do-won stated, "Regardless of the reason, Kwak Do-won and the agency sincerely take full responsibility without any excuse. We apologize sincerely once again to everyone who has watched over us and for causing trouble."

Kwak Do-won began his acting career as a theater actor in 1992 and appeared in films such as "The Wailing" (2016), "Steel Rain 1 and 2" (2017?2020), and "The Man Standing Next" (2020). He caused controversy ahead of the release of the film "Firefighter" and the TVING series "Villains."
