Legal Consultation on Domestic Violence and Stalking
The National Police Agency and the Korean Women Lawyers Association announced on the 11th that they have signed a business agreement to protect and support socially vulnerable groups.
On the same day, they held a business agreement ceremony at the National Police Agency in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, agreeing to build a dense social safety net and to jointly promote collaborative projects by identifying areas of cooperation.
Accordingly, they plan to collaborate on providing legal advice on matters requested by the National Police Agency and provincial police agencies, as well as legal counseling support for victims of crimes such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. The National Police Agency believes that enabling crime victims to receive legal support from the police stage will greatly aid in recovery and rights protection.
Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, stated, "Protecting socially vulnerable groups is a task that requires the combined efforts of government agencies such as the police, as well as public and private members of society," adding, "This agreement will be a great help in the recovery and rights protection of socially vulnerable victims."
Kim Hak-ja, President of the Korean Women Lawyers Association, expressed gratitude for the National Police Agency's interest and efforts in protecting socially vulnerable groups, saying, "The Korean Women Lawyers Association will also become a strong shield for the vulnerable in our society together with the police."
