Post Office Shopping, Special Discounts to Support Wildfire-Affected Areas

Coupons Offering Up to 20% Discount on Local Products from the 11th to the 21st

Post Office Shopping supports online sales channels for farmers, fishermen, and small business owners in areas affected by wildfires.

The Korea Post Business Promotion Agency announced on the 11th that it will support online sales channels to help farmers, fishermen, and small business owners in 10 areas (5 cities/counties/districts in Chungnam, Chungbuk, Jeonnam, Daejeon, and Gyeongbuk) recently declared special disaster zones due to severe damage caused by wildfires.

From the 11th to the 21st, a 'Wildfire-Affected Areas Hope Sharing Special Exhibition' will be held, showcasing over 2,000 excellent products from the affected regions. To promote sales of products from the special disaster zones, Post Office Shopping plans to provide two types of discount coupons on a first-come, first-served basis to its customers. In particular, for products from Okcheon-gun in Chungbuk, Hampyeong-gun in Jeonnam, and Yeongju-si in Gyeongbuk, up to 20% discount coupons applicable to regional products will be supported in cooperation with the respective local governments.

Last year, Post Office Shopping also held the ‘East Coast Wildfire-Affected Areas Hope Sharing Special Exhibition,’ displaying more than 200 products from special disaster zones and donating part of the proceeds through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. Additionally, it annually runs campaigns such as ‘Helping Farms’ and ‘Local Government Special Halls’ to provide online sales channels for local farmers and fishermen.

Min Jae-seok, president of the Korea Post Business Promotion Agency, said, “This special exhibition was planned to support small business owners nationwide who are struggling due to wildfire damage,” and added, “We will do our best to support farmers, fishermen, and small business owners in special disaster areas by actively utilizing the nationwide ‘Post Office Shopping’ distribution channels.”
