On the 7th, Ulleung-gun and the Ulleung-gun Sports Council in Gyeongbuk held the send-off ceremony for the Ulleung-gun athletes participating in the 61st Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival.
This year's Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival will be held in Uljin-gun from the 20th to the 24th for five days, with preliminary matches taking place from the 13th to the 19th.
Ulleung County held a send-off ceremony for the Ulleung County athletes participating in the Gyeongbuk Provincial Sports Festival on the 7th.
The event was attended by Nam Han-gwon, Ulleung-gun Governor, Gong Kyung-sik, Chairman of the Ulleung-gun Council, Gong Ho-sik, Chairman of the Ulleung-gun Sports Council, Kim Jin-gyu, Superintendent of Ulleung Education Support Office, as well as heads of various organizations, vice chairmen of competitions and operations, and athletes, all pledging their best efforts.
The team consists of about 90 people, including 51 athletes and 36 officials, participating in seven sports: golf, archery, soccer, tennis, badminton, taekwondo, and jokgu.
Nam Han-gwon, Ulleung-gun Governor, said, “Although Ulleungdo has relatively poor sports facilities compared to the mainland, I hope you will raise the county’s status and honor with passion and fighting spirit.”
