NanoEntek Receives Chinese Medical Device Approval... "Targeting China's Blood Product Market with the World's Only Compact System"

NanoEntek is set to pioneer a new global blood product market following its expansion into North America and Europe.

On the 10th, NanoEntek announced that it has obtained medical device approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its compact blood product analysis system, ‘ADAM-rWBC2’.

Based on the NMPA medical device approval, NanoEntek plans to make a full-scale entry into the Chinese blood product market. A company representative explained, "The importance of blood quality management is being highlighted in China due to issues such as the distribution of HIV-infected blood products and mass infections caused by AIDS blood transfusions," adding, "We expect high demand for the ADAM-rWBC2."

The ADAM-rWBC, the world’s only compact blood product analysis system, automatically counts the number of residual white blood cells inside blood bags before transfusion, managing blood quality. Its technology has been validated by awards such as the IR52 Jang Young-sil Award and selection as a World-Class Product, and it was chosen as the standard equipment by the American Red Cross in 2017.

NanoEntek has built an ADAM series portfolio ranging from compact to large-scale equipment based on its technological capabilities, already securing the North American blood product market by supplying to U.S. military hospitals as well as major private blood centers. Since last year, it has been supplying large-scale equipment, the ‘ADAM-rWBC HT,’ to blood centers primarily in Germany and the European region.

A NanoEntek representative stated, "Globally, the importance of blood quality management to prevent contaminated blood is increasing," and added, "Since China has continuously faced issues related to HIV-infected blood, we will launch full-scale sales activities in China based on this medical device approval."
