80% of Donors Donate 100,000 Won, Receive Tax Credit
On the 10th, Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the number of donors surpassed 500 within 100 days since the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation System (January 1, 2023).
Analyzing the donation amounts, about 400 donors, accounting for 80% of the total donors, donated 100,000 won, which qualifies for a full tax credit.
The average donation amount per person is approximately 180,000 won.
By age group, ▲under 30s accounted for 18%, ▲40s 20%, ▲50s 39%, and ▲60s and above 22%, with those in their 50s participating most actively in donations.
Among the donors’ preferred return gifts, the regional gift certificate ‘Boseong Love Gift Certificate’ was the most popular at 23%.
Following that were local agricultural, marine, and livestock products in the order of ▲green pork (14%), ▲rice (11%), ▲soy sauce marinated crab (8%), and ▲green tea (6%).
To promote the Hometown Love Donation System, Boseong-gun has also worked on cross-support among sister cities and cooperative local governments over the past 100 days.
So far, they have promoted the ‘Hometown Love Donation Mutual Donation and Support Relay’ for the successful establishment of the system with Jeju Island, Daegu Buk-gu, Gwangju Dong-gu, Gwangju Nam-gu, Jangheung-gun, Yeonggwang-gun, and Goheung-gun.
A Boseong-gun official said, “We sincerely thank everyone who donated for Boseong, and above all, we will repay the passion and interest of donors who have contributed since the system’s first implementation. We will do our best to ensure that the donations are used for the development of Boseong-gun through future project proposals and transparent accounting management.”
Return gifts include accommodations and experiences, DIY pet supplies, grass-cutting agency services, mobile laundry services, and local agricultural, marine, livestock, and specialty products.
The collected donations will be used to support socially vulnerable groups in Boseong-gun, protect and nurture youth, promote culture, arts, and health of local residents, revitalize local communities, and improve residents’ welfare.
