Dongbu Construction announced on the 10th that it has won the contract for the "Jeonbuk National University and 2 Other Universities Facility Improvement Lease-type Private Investment (BTL) Project" commissioned by the Education Facility Environment Research Center (EduMac).

The total construction cost is 40.3 billion KRW (excluding VAT), and the construction period is approximately 18 months after groundbreaking. Dongbu Construction is the lead contractor with a 38% stake.
This project involves rebuilding, demolition, and remodeling of facilities at three universities: Jeonbuk National University, Chonnam National University, and Mokpo National University. Specifically, the project includes ▲rebuilding and demolition of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Jeonbuk National University ▲remodeling of the College of Natural Sciences and College of Arts at Chonnam National University ▲remodeling of Buildings 1 and 2 of the College of Engineering at Mokpo National University.
In the contractor selection evaluation, Dongbu Construction received high scores in all areas including design and construction. In particular, it was highly rated for green building and energy efficiency aspects based on eco-friendly design, safety management through smart safety equipment at each site, and safe and precise construction planning using 3D data.
Dongbu Construction has been building a track record in various BTL project fields. It has also secured BTL projects such as the Seogye-dong Complex Cultural Facility BTL with a total construction cost of 149.8 billion KRW, as well as projects at Samcheok Medical Center, Korea National University of Education, and Korea Polytechnic. In February, it participated as a contractor in the Daejang Hongdae Line project, the first mixed model of revenue-generating private investment (BTO) and lease-type private investment (BTL) in Korea.
