The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office of the Ministry of Environment announced on the 10th that it will newly install a total of two air pollution monitoring networks within its jurisdiction by the end of this year.
The air pollution monitoring networks are facilities for monitoring air pollutants such as fine dust, with local governments operating one urban air monitoring network and the Ministry of Environment operating one port monitoring network separately.
Including the newly established site in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, the total number of urban air monitoring networks within the jurisdiction will increase to 66.
Jeong Seon-hwa, head of the Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office, stated, “We will continue to promote the installation and operation of air pollution monitoring networks within the jurisdiction to provide accurate air quality information to local residents.”
