Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, is promoting the ‘Construction Equipment Engine Replacement Support Project’ to reduce fine dust.
According to the county on the 10th, this project will invest 165 million KRW in budget, and support will be provided differentially according to the specifications and engine replacement unit price within the project cost.
The project targets support for replacing engines of old forklifts and excavators equipped with emission regulation standards (Tier1) or lower engines manufactured before 2004 with Tier3 or higher engines.
There is no output condition limit for those manufactured before 2004, and for those manufactured before 2005 with engine output between 75kw and less than 130kw, and those with less than 75kw output, construction equipment manufactured before 2006 can also receive support.
Also, the construction equipment must have been registered with the county before 2022, must not have been fitted with emission reduction devices or converted to low-emission engines through government or local government support, and must have no arrears in local taxes or environmental improvement charges as of the application date.
Selection of recipients will be in order of the most recent initial registration date, and owners of construction equipment receiving subsidies will be subject to a mandatory operation period of two years from the date of the engine replacement structure change inspection.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Air Environment Team of the Environmental Hygiene Division at the county office or by registered mail by the 26th.
