KBI Metal, a subsidiary of KBI Group specializing in wire materials and automotive electrical components, announced on the 10th that it has completed the facilities for producing BLDC motors for automotive parts and has started mass production.
The BLDC motors produced by the company are characterized by the elimination of brushes, which are prone to wear inside, thereby enhancing durability. These motors operate at high speeds without strain, consume less power, and produce lower noise. The company invested 1 billion KRW in facilities, completing the installation of a temperature and humidity controlled room at its Daegu electrical components division factory. The production process of BLDC motors is sensitive to temperature and humidity. The company established a 2,500㎡ temperature and humidity controlled room on the second floor of the electrical components factory.
They also mentioned that they are considering establishing an SMT production line, a core component for motor control. This equipment automatically assembles electronic devices such as semiconductors, diodes, and chips onto printed circuit boards.
Han-sang Park, Vice Chairman of KBI Group, stated, "BLDC motors will be the next-generation core business of KBI Metal's electrical components division. They can be applied to various parts of eco-friendly and conventional vehicles, and we plan to invest further in research and development to produce high-quality products that meet our customers' needs."
