A Total of 106.6 Billion KRW Invested This Year, 158 Projects Underway... Employment Rate Target Set at 65%
2023 Detailed Plan for Regional Job Targets Announced
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) is investing 106.6 billion KRW this year to implement 158 projects aimed at creating 12,515 local jobs and achieving an employment rate of 65%.
Earlier, the district established the ‘2023 Detailed Job Policy Plan’ in accordance with the regional job target disclosure system and posted it on the district website and the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s regional employment information network.
The regional job target disclosure system is a policy where local government heads announce job creation goals and measures to be pursued during their terms to revitalize local employment, and their performance is evaluated. All local governments nationwide participate.
This year, the district will pursue ‘Sustainable Eunpyeong-type ESG Creation’ as its vision to discover and promote Eunpyeong-type jobs.
The five main strategies are: ▲ Establishing and expanding a leading model for Eunpyeong-type social service jobs ▲ Discovering customized jobs that include everyone ▲ Linking to self-reliant jobs through strengthening private sector job competencies ▲ Creating jobs based on self-sustaining growth by supporting local commercial districts ▲ Fostering new industry jobs through the development of a cultural tourism city.
Last year, the district focused on job creation and succeeded in creating 14,955 jobs, exceeding the initial target of 12,270 jobs by 121%.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “This year, all departments will devote their full efforts to creating quality jobs and revitalizing local commercial districts to achieve our goals.”
Songpa-gu Supports Livelihood and Economic Recovery
Support Funds Provided to Small Business Owners and Unpaid Leave Workers
Songpa-gu Partners with Seoul City to Lay Foundation for Recovery of Small Business Owners and Unpaid Leave Workers
Up to 3 Million KRW per Small Business Owner, Up to 1.5 Million KRW per Unpaid Leave Worker
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok), in partnership with Seoul City, is providing the ‘Small Business Owner Support Employment Incentive’ and the ‘Unpaid Leave Worker Employment Retention Support’ to small business owners and workers struggling due to the economic downturn.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Songpa-gu has provided a total of 2.5 billion KRW in support funds to small business owners and workers facing economic difficulties. Additionally, through the ‘Songpa-gu Hope Planner’ and 15.6 billion KRW in ‘Large-scale Loan Support,’ it has laid the groundwork for the recovery of small business owners.
First, to increase jobs while reducing management burdens, the district will provide employment incentives to small business enterprises that hire new personnel this year.
Employers can apply after three months of employment, and if employment is maintained for three months from the application month, 3 million KRW per person will be supported, up to a maximum of 10 people per company.
To stabilize workers’ livelihoods and prevent unemployment, unpaid leave workers will receive up to 1.5 million KRW in employment retention support.
The target group includes workers employed at companies with fewer than 50 employees within Songpa-gu who took unpaid leave of seven days or more per month from July 1, last year, to April 30 this year, and maintained employment insurance until May 31. Both workers and employers can apply.
Applications for both the ‘Small Business Owner Support Employment Incentive’ and the ‘Unpaid Leave Worker Employment Retention Support’ can be submitted by visiting the Songpa-gu Economic Promotion Division in person or via mail, fax, or email by the 30th of this month. For more details, visit the Songpa-gu website or contact the dedicated inquiry numbers (Small Business Owner Support Employment Incentive, Unpaid Leave Worker Employment Retention Support).
The payment schedule is set for July for the employment incentive and June for the employment retention support.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “We hope this project, carried out in cooperation with Seoul City, will help stabilize the economy of small business owners and workers. Songpa-gu will continue to implement projects that provide practical support to small business owners, the backbone of the local economy.”
