On the 9th (local time), the Israeli military stated that it struck Syrian rocket launchers with artillery and drones, and fighter jets conducted airstrikes on military bases, radar installations, and artillery positions within Syria.

The Israeli military said that the Syrian government is responsible for all actions occurring within Syrian territory and that it will not tolerate any violations of Israeli territory.

Israel's attack on this day was a retaliatory measure against rockets launched from Syria the previous night.

The day before, six rockets were fired from Syria toward Israel. Among them, three rockets crossed the border and landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Israel occupied the Golan Heights, along with Palestine and East Jerusalem, following the 1967 Six-Day War. In 1981, Israel annexed approximately 1,200 square kilometers of the Golan Heights area.

Lebanese satellite broadcaster Al Mayadeen reported that the Palestinian armed group Islamic Jihad, supported by Iran, was responsible for the rocket attacks.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense activated its air defense systems to respond to Israel's attack. It stated that aside from some material damage, there were no casualties this time.

With the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan coinciding with the Jewish holiday of Passover, which commemorates the Exodus, clashes repeatedly occurred between Israeli police and Palestinian residents in East Jerusalem over the issue of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam's three holiest sites.

Clashes in East Jerusalem between the two sides escalated into armed conflicts between Israel and militant factions such as Hamas within the Gaza Strip. As a result, attacks targeting Israel have continued in Lebanon and Syria, where the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah wields significant influence, heightening tensions in the Middle East.
