'4.3 Trillion Won Investment Attraction' Kim Dong-yeon: "I Will Achieve Great Results and Return"

Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province posted the following text and photo on his SNS on the 9th.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon embarked on his first overseas business trip on the 9th to attract investment from the United States and Japan.

On the same day, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS) under the title "First business trip, I will return with great results," stating, "This is my first trip since taking office as governor, visiting the United States and Japan," and added, "I will finalize attracting a total investment of 4.3 trillion won from six companies in the US and Japan."

He continued, "To provide more opportunities for the youth of Gyeonggi Province, we will also complete a program sending over 300 young people to prestigious American universities and more than 50 overseas companies," and introduced, "Especially in the US, we will further strengthen cooperation in innovative industries for future growth such as semiconductors, advanced mobility, AI (artificial intelligence), and big data. We plan to meet with the Governor of Michigan and former US Treasury Secretary to further develop the 'Innovation Alliance' discussed with Philip Goldberg, the US Ambassador to Korea."

He emphasized, "There is something special about this trip," adding, "At the request of (Yeom Jong-hyun), the Chairman of the Provincial Assembly, Nam Kyung-soon, the Vice Chairman from the opposition party, will also join. Gyeonggi Province and the Provincial Assembly will work together beyond party lines to firmly support the lives of the residents."

Additionally, he said, "Since last year, a representative of the Red Team, responsible for providing critical feedback on provincial affairs and policies, will accompany us," and added, "During this overseas trip, they will perform their assigned duties while simultaneously evaluating and criticizing the trip from the Red Team’s perspective and suggesting improvements."

Governor Kim concluded by emphasizing, "I will not waste a moment and will achieve the planned results for the province’s administration and the lives of its residents."
