Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) held the ‘Naegok Valley Festival’ on the 7th in front of the Naegok Nut Tree Shelter and Seocho 50 Plus Center.
This event, held for the first time this year, was prepared to provide daily enjoyment through various cultural performances and experience programs for elderly and middle-aged residents. About 300 users and residents participated.
First, various experience programs were conducted within the Naegok Nut Tree Shelter and Seocho 50 Plus Center, public leisure facilities for elderly and middle-aged residents.
The main programs included ▲ VR game experiences to improve cognitive ability ▲ robot experience zones to enhance memory ▲ diverse activities such as body composition analysis, stress, and blood pressure measurement through smart healthcare experiences.
Afterwards, with 100 participants, a plogging event was held on the trail course around the facility under the theme of ‘Nature in the City.’ Plogging is an exercise that involves picking up trash while jogging. Along with the plogging activity, participants created letters or pictures matching the keywords ‘forest, spring, Seocho’ using natural materials such as pine cones and leaves, and sent certification photos, adding to the enjoyment.
Additionally, as a pre-event performance, middle-aged residents performed guitar and line dance shows, and on one side of the event venue, experience booths, a flea market, and an art exhibition prepared by residents were operated.
Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su said at the event, “I hope the residents who came to the Naegok Valley Festival, held for the first time this year, make warm memories of the spring day,” and added, “I ask for much interest and participation in the programs operated by the two institutions, Naegok Nut Tree Shelter and Seocho 50 Plus Center, so that middle-aged and elderly people can engage in more lively and vigorous activities.”
