Festivals organized by autonomous organizations and supported by the district, such as the ‘Wolgok Moonlight Festival,’ ‘Jangwi Buma Festival,’ and ‘Seokgwan-dong Uireung Cultural Festival,’ have established themselves as representative local festivals. Festivals that blend diverse cultures, social classes, and age groups, including the ‘Seongbuk World Food Festival Nurimasil,’ ‘European Christmas Market,’ and ‘Latin America Festival,’ have become cultural festivals representing not only the region but also Seoul.

The ‘Vibrant Spaces, Seongbuk-gu and Festivals’ section of the Seongbuk Village Archive collects, documents, and organizes vivid on-site photos, related articles, videos, posters, and other records of these various local festivals by year, allowing visitors to observe their transformation over time.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “As Seongbuk-gu is becoming a special place where local residents and domestic and international visitors accumulate diverse cultures and experiences through festivals, we will continue to work on structuring related materials efficiently to keep pace with this development.”

Kim Young-il, Director of Seongbuk Cultural Center, who is conducting the village documentation project with Seongbuk-gu, said, “We plan to release materials on more diverse themes in the future, so please look forward to it.”
