On the 6th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held the 2nd Seoul Metropolitan City Urban and Architectural Joint Committee Delegated Subcommittee and announced on the 7th that it had approved with modifications the designation and planning decision (draft) of the district unit planning zone for the construction of transit-oriented housing and public rental housing in the area of 161-55 Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu.
The target site corresponds to the transit-oriented area of Isu Station on Subway Lines 4 and 7 according to the 'Operational Standards for Transit-Oriented Housing and Public Rental Housing Construction.' It is a plan to improve the poor residential environment where old and deteriorated buildings are concentrated and to renovate the urban environment by reflecting the characteristics of the transit-oriented area.
Through the designation of the district unit planning zone, a total of 965 apartment units (including 89 public rental housing units) will be constructed on the 45,586㎡ site, with buildings ranging from three basement floors to 29 above-ground floors.
Additionally, community support facilities accessible to all local residents will be placed along the shared living street (Sadang-ro 27-gil) to enhance convenience, and a youth cultural center, a necessary facility within Dongjak-gu according to Seoul's living zone plan, will be provided within the community support facilities.
Through this district unit planning zone designation, it is expected to greatly contribute to enhancing the public nature of the Isu Station transit-oriented area, improving the residential and pedestrian environment for local residents, and stabilizing low-income housing through the supply of quality rental housing.
