‘Visiting Senior Centers Dementia Prevention Education’ Conducted Until November
The Dementia Safety Center in Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk recently conducted a 'Visiting Dementia Prevention Education' at the Byeongbu-ri Senior Center in Pacheon-myeon, and plans to continue providing visiting dementia prevention education at senior centers in eight towns and townships until November.
The visiting senior center dementia prevention education was organized to promote the practice of dementia prevention and the importance of early screening by directly visiting senior centers, which are most frequently used by the elderly during the day.
The main educational content focuses on ▲ dementia prevention exercises ▲ the 3.3.3 rule for dementia prevention, and other dementia prevention rules and exercises that can be practiced in daily life.
The 3.3.3 rule for dementia prevention consists of 3 rights (exercise, diet, reading), 3 prohibitions (moderate drinking, no smoking, brain injury prevention), and 3 actions (health checkups, communication, early detection of dementia).
In addition, dementia cognitive screening tests will be conducted to focus on early detection and prevention of dementia among the elderly.
Yoon Kyung-hee, the county governor, said, “Through this dementia prevention education, I hope the elderly will consistently practice dementia prevention and management to live a healthy and vibrant old age without worries about dementia.”
