Nepes CocoaFab Successfully Completes 'Digital Saessak Camp', "Astonished by the Enthusiastic Response of Youth"

Digital education brand 'CocoaFab' of semiconductor and artificial intelligence company Nepes (CEO Byung-gu Lee) successfully concluded the Digital Sprout Camp. The Digital Sprout Camp is a digital talent development project promoted by the Ministry of Education, 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, providing high-quality digital education opportunities such as software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) to elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide, and aiming to reduce educational disparities between regions and schools.

Selected as the operating institution for the Digital Sprout Camp, CocoaFab opened and operated SW coding and AI education camps for youth in Gangwon, Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungbuk regions, presenting diverse and differentiated educational programs to a total of over 4,000 young people, exceeding the originally planned number by more than 1,000 participants.

In particular, under the concept of 'Digital Heroes for a Better Future,' the program naturally incorporated various projects linking social value and digital education, helping participants understand the principles of technology embedded in everyday life that we might overlook, and solve problems around us such as environment and safety through digital technology.

As a result, the 'Digital Sprout Camp,' which was held from the end of last December to March this year, was originally planned to run until February during the winter vacation period, but was extended until March thanks to numerous requests from schools and youth nationwide wishing to participate.

In addition, CocoaFab organized special lectures and various career coaching events for parents of youth participating in the camp to help them understand digital education, receiving high praise from many.

Lee Chae-yoon, director of Nepes CocoaFab who oversaw the project, said, “Despite the short recruitment period, the camp was successfully completed thanks to the explosive response from school teachers and parents. Above all, I was surprised by the high level of engagement shown by the children, which exceeded our expectations, and I felt great fulfillment through them.

We will continue to do our best to ensure that our students can receive quality digital education continuously.”

Furthermore, Nepes CocoaFab was consecutively selected as the operating institution for the Digital Sprout Camp for the first half of 2023 following the winter vacation camp, and plans to operate the Digital Sprout Camp during the semester starting in April.
