1.7 Times Increase in Latin America and 1.5 Times in Europe Compared to Previous Model
Global Launch Completed with Japan Release on the 20th
Samsung Electronics announced on the 6th that the 'Galaxy S23 series (Ultra, S23+, S23)', which began sales on February 17, has set sales records surpassing the previous 'S22 series' in major countries worldwide. In some regions, sales increased by up to 70% compared to the same period last year.
In Europe, where the premium sales ratio is high, sales were 1.5 times higher than the previous model. India, a 'global population powerhouse,' saw sales increase by 1.4 times, and the Middle East by 1.5 times, confirming strong local market popularity. In major Latin American countries such as Brazil and Mexico, where sales started on February 24, sales performance is 1.7 times higher than the previous model.
Notae-moon Roh, President of Samsung Electronics MX Division, stated regarding Galaxy S23 sales, "We are aiming for double-digit sales growth compared to the previous model."
In South Korea, sales recently surpassed 1 million units, which is a similar sales pace to the previous model. The Ultra product was overwhelmingly popular. The global sales ratio of Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, and S23 was recorded as 6 to 2 to 2, respectively.
Industry experts evaluate that the powerful performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and its innovative 200-megapixel camera successfully captured consumers' hearts. 5G performance has also improved. The S23 showed faster 5G speeds than the S22.
Samsung Electronics has released the Galaxy S23 series in about 130 countries including South Korea, the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and India. With the launch in Japan on the 20th, the global release of the Galaxy S23 series will be completed this month with the last markets being some countries in Africa and Southwest Asia. Samsung Electronics will hold Galaxy Unpacked in Japan at 10 a.m. on the 6th to showcase the Galaxy S23 series. Only two models, the 'standard' and 'Ultra' models, excluding the 'Plus' model, will be released. In Osaka, the Galaxy Studio, an experiential offline store, will reopen after four years. Galaxy Studios will also operate as pop-up stores in major cities such as Tokyo, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Samsung Electronics replaced the 'Galaxy' logo with the 'SAMSUNG' logo on smartphone products in Japan for the first time in eight years.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is offering various benefits to customers who purchase the Galaxy S23 series. Buyers can choose one of the following: a 100,000 KRW coupon usable at Samsung.com event mall, or a one-year 'Samsung Care Plus' damage protection plan that offers damage compensation and immediate repair discounts.
