Busan Dongnae Office of Education Implements Traditional Etiquette and Character Education Program

Busan Dongnae Office of Education is operating the ‘Character Growth Seowon Outing’ program for 124 third-grade classes in 31 elementary schools.

The program aims to cultivate students' proper character and consists of two courses: ‘Traditional Etiquette Education’ and ‘Exploration of Chungnyeolsa Sacred Site’.

The ‘Traditional Etiquette Education’ course is conducted through practical and experiential methods, covering the purpose and necessity of traditional etiquette, proper gong-su posture, and bowing techniques. Students participate in the class wearing hanbok, learning how to wear it and enhancing their understanding of traditional clothing.

In the ‘Exploration of Chungnyeolsa Sacred Site’ course, students learn about the history and significance of Chungnyeolsa through visits to the Song Sang-hyeon Gong’s Famous Saying Monument, the loyalty spirit of Magistrate Song Sang-hyeon, the main hall, and the Uiryeolgak pavilion.
